South East Idaho Fly Fishers will be hosting a special presentation by East Idaho fly tying expert Gary Barnes on Thursday at the Idaho Fish and Game office in Pocatello at 1345 Barton Road. A tying demonstration by Barnes will start at 6:30 p.m. followed by his presentation on fly fishing in Iceland at 7:30 p.m.
Barnes helps manage Loop USA, a distributor of fly fishing rods and equipment based in Shelley. An expert fly tyer and teacher, Barnes also runs Semperfli USA, a wholesale manufacturer of fly tying materials. He travels the world as part of the Semperfli Pro Tyers Team, sharing his fishing and tying knowledge while picking up a few fish stories along the way.
Whether you are new to fly fishing and fly tying or have spent countless hours with fly rod or tying bobbin in hand, do not miss this opportunity to learn from this globe-trotting angler and expert fly tyer. You do not need to be a member of SEIFF to attend, and the program is free.
