Nonresident/second whitetail tags now sold out

Fish and Game has sold out of all its nonresident and second deer and elk tags with the final white-tailed deer tags selling out on Monday. Nonresidents who want to ensure they get a general deer or elk tag for next year can start buying 2019 nonresident licenses and deer and elk tags starting Dec. 1.

Hunters have been buying nonresident and second tags at a faster rate than in the past, and elk, general deer and whitetail deer tags all sold out about a month earlier than in 2017. Nonresident deer tags have sold out annually since 2015, and elk tags also sold out in 2017.

Nonresidents are limited to 14,000 general deer tags, 1,500 white-tailed deer tags and 12,185 elk tags. After Aug. 1, those tags are also available to residents and nonresidents as second tags.
