LET’S CELEBRATE KINDNESS! We’re kicking off Kind Week on Monday, Sept. 18, with a street party festival in partnership with Kind Community and Old Town Pocatello.

The 3rd Annual Kick-Off Celebration will run from 5-9 pm on the East and West sides of the Center Street Underpass. The free, family-friendly event will feature live music, entertainment, activities for the entire family, food trucks and the Exhibition in KIND.

Grab a Passport to KINDness from one of the volunteers and check in at each of our points of interest to qualify for some fantastic raffle prizes. Please visit www.kindcom.org for details.

If your child/children have not had an opportunity to paint a piece of The Kind Village, registration is now open for the next painting opportunity that will be held during the Kind Community Kick-Off Celebration on Sept. 18. During the event, beginning at 5 pm, children will have the opportunity to paint 150 more pieces for The Kind Village. Molinelli’s Jewelers, 126 N. Main, is celebrating its 114th Anniversary with The $114,000 Jewelry Giveaway! The event features watch batteries for $1.14 all month long, limit three. See how almost anything in the store could be yours free!

The Portneuf Valley Farmers Market will be open on Saturday with tons of fresh produce. Come shop the Farmers Market from 9 am to 1 pm at the Old Town Pavilion.

This Friday at Portneuf Valley Brewing Bret Gordon teams with Steve Byers and Chad Waller as Gate City Sound for some easy listening acoustic rock.

On Saturday night they’ve got Shawn Barnby performing acoustic rock with a contemporary twist. Both shows are in the Loft from 9 pm to 11:30 pm with no cover. PVB is still open on Sundays.

Come down for a bite or have them deliver! And don’t forget trivia night every Monday starting at 7 pm and the acoustic jam every Tuesday at 7:30 pm. There’s always a reason to be at PVB!

Vendor registration is now open for The Great Pumpkin Festival coming to Old Town Pocatello on Saturday, Oct. 7. This new festival on Main Street will feature the Portneuf Valley Farmers Market, apple pie baking contest, pumpkin painting, antiques, crafts, jewelry, food, music and more. It’s celebrating fall and the coming holidays. The vendor application is available at www.oldtownpocatello.com.

Upcoming Events!

Mark your calendars now for Oktoberfest! The AV Center Professional Aviation Services, Teton Honda and Teton Hyundai are proud to present the 12th Annual Oktoberfest Street Party at Portneuf Valley Brewing on Saturday, Sept. 30!

Gates open at 4 pm with live music featuring Hot Pursuit, The Kyd-J Band and Gas, Food & Lodging beginning at 5 pm. Beer, brats, music, and Oktoberfest fun for the entire family. All ages welcome!

There will be activities for the kids including face painting and balloons. Half price admission for ISU students. Plan to celebrate Oktoberfest in style at the street party following the ISU homecoming game!

The next blood drive that is being hosted at SICOG is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 28, from 9 am to 1:30 pm. The blood drive will be held at the SICOG conference room at 214 E. Center. Hope Studios, 152 N. 2nd Ave., will be hosting the “Fall In Love Market & Sale” on Sept. 29 & 30. The two day flea market will feature 15 fun booths with the most wonderful wares: antiques, vintage, shabby chic, furniture, repurposed and upcycled goods, jewelry, games, and more!

Springfield Artist Peggy Bain will be teaching a class, “Let’s Get Started in Oils,” at the Pocatello Art Center, 444 N. Main, on Sept. 29 & 30 from 9 am to 4 pm both days with an hour for lunch.

The only supplies you will need to bring are a sketchbook and a desire to get started oil painting.
