Wells Fargo increases contribution to Bannock Development

Press Release

Wells Fargo’s presented a $5,000 check to the Bannock Development Corporation Tuesday to support its economic development programs.

“We are happy to support Bannock Development in their mission, which helps grow our community’s employment and economy,” said Kory Call, Wells Fargo District Manager of Southeast Idaho.

The contribution increases the banks investment level in Bannock Development providing much needed funding.

“Wells Fargo’s increased commitment to Bannock Development takes them to the Heritage Investor Level and boosts the development corporation’s efforts to attract jobs and investment to our community,” said Pocatello Mayor Brian Blad.

The funds will be used to conduct marketing of Bannock County communities for company locations, talent development and local company expansions.

“To be successful in economic development a good team is needed with great players and we have some of the best, with a history of accomplishment,” said Chubbuck Mayor Kevin England.

Last month events were held commemorating expansions at Great Western Malting and ON Semiconductor, which Bannock Development helped establish.

In addition to financial services on an international scope, Wells Fargo brought Neighborhood Lift to Idaho and funded it at $3 million. Neighborhood Lift is a down-payment-assistance-grant to help buyers get into their houses. The program matches the buyers down-payment contribution and is forgiven over three years.

“We want to issue the same number of grant as larger cities in Idaho,” said Call.
