On Sept. 18, Old Town Pocatello and Kind Community are partnering to present our community with this year’s Kind Week Kick-off Celebrate. From 5-9 pm there will be food, music, activities, trolley rides and more for the families of Pocatello and Chubbuck.

The event will take place on the East and West sides of the Center Street Underpass, in the Underpass, and along Union Pacific Avenue.

In preparation for Kind Week, Old Town Pocatello and Kind Community will be hosting “The Kind Village Kids Public Paint Project.” On Aug. 4, area kids will be participating in the art project that will bring the “Kind Village” to life. Kids will choose a piece of pre-cut aluminum, paint it using their very own creativity, and sign it.

Each piece will be an animal, butterfly, flower, building, steam engine, or other item symbolic of our area. The kids will paint from 10 am to 4 pm. 200 pieces to be painted that day!

The art pieces will be installed along the fence line on the East side of the Center Street Underpass, from S. First to the intersection of Clark Street and Pocatello Avenue. Installation is scheduled for September 1st during First Friday Art Walk.

The official dedication will take place during the Kind Week Kick-off event of September 18th. To register your child or children to paint their very own art piece, please visit www.oldtownpocatello.com and complete the short registration form.
