On Friday, Aug. 18, Old Town Pocatello will be hosting a special event in conjunction with the eclipse that will be taking place on Aug. 21. The Eclipse Art & Neon Sign Walk will be an exciting event to bring visitors to Old Town for the evening.
We are inviting visitors and residents to “Enjoy a special Art Walk featuring our charming art galleries, shops and restaurants hosting artists, music, shopping specials, food specials and more all from
5 to 8 pm. Free parking and free admission.
At 8 pm experience the historic neon signs that have been restored throughout Old Town. Hosts will be available at specific signs to share the history of the sign, its business and contributions to our history. Art Walk will run from 5-8pm and the Neon Signs will be highlighted from 8-10pm.
We will have marketing pieces located at our local hotels, area attractions, and regional visitors centers to promote this event along with the social media and state tourism marketing that will be taking place. We have a full page ad that will run in the Idaho State Journal’s Eclipse booklet and a front page liner highlighting the event. We will have electronic billboard images running and will be doing some geo-fencing push messages, new technology that is now available in our area.
The event is already up on the Old Town Facebook page and our website. We would like to begin building the participants list now and highlight your businesses as often as we can beginning July 18 and running through August 18. To participate you will need to schedule an artist/performer/special art activity taking place in your business that evening.
You can feature food demonstrations, music, poetry reading…..etc….all that we can we tied into this event that won’t place again for another 99 years.
This is a wonderful opportunity to promote your business, gain local customers and have travelers throughout our area visit our beautiful downtown. Please consider participating! Just reply to this email to let me know to include you in the list of participants. If you can please plan to let me know the specifics about what you plan to do by July 18, that would be wonderful!
