Idaho’s Workforce Development Task Force to Meet March 3

Presentations from Idaho associations and state agencies will comprise the majority of the Governor’s Workforce Development Task Force meeting March 3. It runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the West Conference Room on the first floor of the J.R. Williams Building, 700 W. State St. in Boise.

Representatives from Idaho Association of Commerce and Industry, the Idaho Chamber Alliance, the National Federation of Independent Business, the Idaho AFL-CIO, the Idaho Technology Council and Idaho Business for Education each will deliver a short presentation followed by a short question-and-answer session.

State agencies making presentations include the Idaho Department of Labor, Idaho Career and Technical Education, Idaho Division of Vocational Rehabilitation and Idaho Health and Welfare.

Idaho Gov. C. L. “Butch” Otter established the Workforce Development Task Force in January 2017 to find solutions for funding and delivering a skilled workforce for Idaho. Task force members represent employers in health care, aerospace, food processing, natural resources, advanced manufacturing, energy and construction. Members also include some legislators and educators.
