It’s time to dust off your gear and get to the mountain! Pomerelle Mountain Resort, near Albion, will open tomorrow, Friday, December 9th. The mountain will be open this Friday thru Sunday. Pomerelle will close mid-week and reopen for daily operation for the 2016-17 season Friday, December 16th.
This week’s storm finally delivered enough snow for an eagerly anticipated opening. “We have ample coverage on the mountain,” said Jody Burrows, general manager. “We are currently working the slopes, so it will be perfect for opening day on Friday!” The mountain is not open for glade (tree) skiing/riding. Early season conditions exist, with a majority of slopes open.
In addition to opening the new, E-Z Rider triple chairlift, the Magic Carpet in the beginner area, and our Triple 88 chairlift will be in operation. Mountain hours will be 9am-4pm.
The Pomerelle lodge will be open, including food service and ski and snowboard rentals. The Pomerelle snow school will offer its full complement of lessons, with group lessons at 10:30am and 1:30pm.
On Saturday, December 17th, Pomerelle will host its annual “FREE Learn to Ski or Board Day.” Guests must be 7-years old or older, brand spankin’ new (a never-ever) to the sport and must pre-register by calling 208-673- 5599. (Does not include chairlift access.)
Guests can get the most up-to-date mountain conditions and current weather by finding us on Facebook, logging onto pomerelle.com, or by calling the snowphone at 208-673-5555.
