The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office has found a medical item belonging to a Boise man who went missing June 29.
John “Randy” French, 54, left Boise June 29 to go fishing in the Riggins area and was due home July 1. French did not return and Saturday night the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office released a report that someone had found a medical item belonging to French five miles north of Riggins on the bank of the Salmon River.
Authorities said French’s family confirmed the item did belong to French.
The Idaho County Sheriff’s Office said their search efforts are now focused in the area between the Lake Creek Bridge and Fiddle Creek. French was last known to be in the Salmon Rapids Lodge parking lot in Riggins.
French is driving a maroon 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche pickup truck with specialty salmon Idaho plates 9435D. Anyone with information about French or his vehicle should call the Idaho County Sheriff’s Office at 208-983-1100.
