Serve Idaho, the Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism, will recognize the 2016 Brightest Stars at a ceremony on Jan. 18 in the Simplot Ballroom at Boise State University.

Bank of Idaho will receive the award in the Business category for 2016.

Idahoans nominated the award recipients throughout the year, a Serve Idaho panel reviewed nominees and Lt. Gov. Brad Little chose the winners. The award categories for outstanding volunteer service are individual, business, student, senior citizen, teacher/professor, nonprofit/civic organization and veteran.

“We are humbled to have so many Idahoans who are committed to making life better for others. Their leadership, vision, time and determination immensely benefit not only their communities but our entire state. Their volunteerism and service impact all of us,” said Lt. Gov. Little in a news release.

Idaho recently was ranked fifth in the nation for volunteerism and service.
