Pebble Creek to host ski and snowboard lessons throughout January

A variety of ski and snowboard lessons will be held at Pebble Creek Ski Area in Inkom throughout the month of January.

Sessions for the Little Star, Super Star, and All Stars programs are scheduled to begin Jan. 6 and 7.

The January Junior Boarder program is offered on Saturdays only beginning Jan. 6. These programs all run for the four consecutive Saturdays or Sundays in January.

For all programs, reservations are recommended as sessions do fill up. Program registration is available by calling Pebble Creek at 208-775-4452. Additional information is available online at www.pebblecreekskiarea.com.

The Little Stars ski program is for 3 and 4 year olds. The cost is $150 and includes four two-hour lessons and lift tickets. Lesson time is 1 p.m. The two-hour lesson format keeps young attention spans in mind while taking advantage of the usually warmer afternoon temperatures.

Super Star lessons are for children ages 4 to 12 who are beginner and intermediate skiers. The 16 hours of lessons over the four days provides any child a solid base while allowing advancement at their own pace. The cost is $165 and includes the lessons and lift tickets.

The All Stars Club is for kids age 7 to 12 who already ski the upper mountain. Kids will learn lots of cool stuff like how to use poles like an expert. The more advanced skiers will also be introduced to skiing varied terrain. The cost is $165 and includes the lessons and lift tickets.

The Junior Boarder Club is for kids age 8 to 12 who are beginner or intermediate boarders. The 16 hours of lessons over the four days provides fun and a solid base of skills. The cost is $165 and includes the lessons and lift tickets.

Rental skis and snowboards are available at the ski area. For those enrolled in lesson programs, rental skis and snowboards are only $15 a day. Persons with a season pass can deduct $25 from the program cost for all programs except the Little Stars Program.

In addition to the multi-session programs, a one-day program is also offered. The Start Skiing and Start Boarding lesson programs are for persons who have never skied or snowboarded before.

They are offered every Saturday and Sunday in January. Morning lesson check-in is at 9:15 a.m. with afternoon lesson check-in at 12:15 p.m. A second day of instruction is available in the mornings only. The program includes a two-hour lesson, lift ticket and rental skis or snowboard. The program is offered for persons age 10 through adult.

The cost for the Start Snowboarding and Start Skiing program is $35. Persons with their own equipment can participate in the program for $25 each.

All of the programs repeat with new sessions starting Feb. 3 and 4.
